Challenge #5 at SYS!!! Using Cork :-)

Happy Friday fans!!! It's a beautiful day here in Tampa with lots of sun and a clear sky!!!! One of my FAVORITE things about this state :-)

Any who, the flip-flop weather here in Florida is not why I am here today.... It' because Friday means another wonderful challenge over at Scrap Your Story!!! Scrap Your Story is a challenge blog with weekly challenges to test your crafting skills and abilities.  This week, the challenge is to use cork somewhere on your layout.  This could mean using actual cork, or paper that looks like cork.  I choose to do both :-)

I'm getting soooo close to finishing my sister's Senior Year album!!!! I only have TWO pages left!!! Yay!!!! These are pictures of her and her friends in her "ATV" class, or tv production.  It was her FAV class and she had tons of fun meeting and working aside her wonderful colleagues.   Of course, as high schoolers they also had a lot of fun goofing off which this layout clearly shows!!!

I started by using a sketch by Brenshevia and combined this with the Twisted Blueprints Challenge over at Colorful Creations.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my page:

As you can see, they are having a lot of fun "working"!!!! I used up some papers I had from the Basic Grey "Fact AND Fiction" collections.  The "cork" like paper in the back is actually from an American Crafts 6x6 paper pad.  I also used various embellies from the same Basic Grey collection as well as others.  For my "cork challenge, I stamped my title on a piece of actual cork, then framed it with a "polaroid" to finish up this wonderful layout!

And while you're here, I'd like to show you another page I made for my weekly "Twisted Thursday" challenge over at Sketches4All.  It's a weekly challenge where I give you a sketch to work with, but there is also a "twist" where you must add or use different items to complete your page.  This week, your challenge is to use the following sketch as well as use banners AND stars on your project.
I choose a sketch by Tabitha Triplett (I absolutely LOVE working with her sketches... They are all just sooo awesome!!!! She's also kind enough to let me "steal" them!!! Hahahaha!!!!).  Any way, here is the sketch:

And here is my page... yes, another for the Senior Album... as you can see, I'm trying to GET IT DONE!!!!!  This is a picture of my beautiful sister posing for the camera in her cap and gown.  LOVE IT!!!!

Gosh, she's just soooo gorgeous!!!! I had to use the Heidi Swapp "Sugar Chic" paper line for this one because it matches her personality perfectly!!!! The pink banner below the photo is actually a premade piece in the paper collection, but the one at the top I cut from coordinating paper.  I added some chipboard letters, rub-ons, and a stamped quote to complete the page.  Isn't it lovely :-)

Well, gang... thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

GDT Sally Cranney!

Hell again!!! It's another busy day here in sunny Florida so I'll be very quick with this post!!!

Colorful Creations is hosting a Guest Designer Challenge for Sally Cranney and I thought I'd show you what I came up with!!! Since my two year wedding Anniversary was last week, I wanted to make something special to put in my wedding album.  This sketch was perfect for that!!

Here is the wonderful sketch by Tabitha Triplett:

And here is my page:

I had some Prima papers and flowers I've been wanting to use up so I decided to bring them out!!  I also used a wood frame I purchased at Michaels and left it raw to match the theme of the page.  I used various other embellishments and bling.  The title was cut on my CE2 using coordinating paper and then adhered to grungepaper using mod podge.  Then I cut them out and inked the edges with black distress ink.  I actually printed OUR ACTUAL WEDDING VOWS on vellum, adhered them on coordinating paper, and placed it above the photo.  Isn't it lovely?!?!?

Another sketch I completed was Sketch N Scrap Sketch #29!  Here is the original sketch:

I've still got some photos to use up for my sister's Senior Year album so I get those out!!!
Here is my page:

I got these papers about two weeks ago by DCWV and I absolutely LOVE them!! They are just so fun to play with!  I followed the sketch quite literally, adding a few extras here and there!!!
The flowers at the bottom of the page just called for some attention, so I added buttons with twin to make them stand out!  I also added some dyed canvas, misted corrugated board in the top left corner under the year, and various trims to complete this fun page!!! Hope you enjoy :-)

Well gang, thanks for stopping in... Have a LUCKY day :-)

This card I made is for Fia's March 1st Happy Friday Challenge.  We were provided with this wonderful sketch by pagemaps to follow:

LOVE IT!!!!!!!  And here is my card...

I used papers from the Dear Lizzy Neoplitan paper line, brad by Martha Stewart, and barious stamps and sentiments.  The "wheel" was embossed using pink Martha Stewart embossing powder on coordinating paper, then adhered to grungepaper using modpodge and fussy cut.  I added a spinner by Tim Holtz to complete the look!

Another page I made got me a spot as a "Decorator" on 2 Broke Girls Challenges Design Team board! We were given this sketch to use and submit for the position...

I'm still working on my sister's Senior Year album and had an AWESOME photo that I've been wanting to scrap.  I used some papers and coordinating embellies by Cloud9 Design that are just so fun and bright! Here's my take on the sketch...

Isn't that photo so awesome?!?!?  The numbers are by Thickers Dear Lizzy Collection, and the "enjoy" title by Heidi Swapp.  I also outlined everything with a black sharpie (one of my FAV things to do!!!) to add definition to the papers.  Hope you "enjoy" this layout!!!

Well gang... Thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

SYS Challenge #4!

Hi there everyone!!! Yet another Friday has come upon us which means another wonderful challenge over at Scrap Your Story!  For this week's challenge, you must incorporate embossing onto your project.  Easy peasy, right?!?

I decided to heat emboss because it's one of my FAV things to do!!!! I embossed a balloon stamp onto some grungepaper using yello embossing powder by Martha Stewart, then colored in the gaps with various distress markers.  I fussy cut the stamp, then pop-dotted it to the project.  Here it is:

I used papers by October Afternoon (Fly A Kite collection so generously donated to me by Melinda from Let's Get Sketchy!!!) and a photo of my youngest daughter atop her father's shoulders at Disney World.  I also used Sketch #1 from 2 Broke Girls Challenges to complete the layout.... Here is the sketch:

And here is my page:

Isn't this collections darling?!?!?  Thanks soooooo much Melinda!!! I also combined this with Roulien's Counting Blessings challenge on Colorful Creations which requires you to use buttons, handmade flowers, stitching (faux or real), and a quote.  My quote is "Life... sit back and enjoy the ride",  and I also used buttons to complete my handmade flowers.  I used a soufle pen to create a stitched look around the brown pattern papers.  Here's a peak at the flowers...

I LOVE how this page turned out!!! This page was also entered in Becky's Spring Flowers Challenge on Sketches4All where the challenge is to use flowers on your project!

Challenges entered:

Well my friends, thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Just a quick hello!

Hola mi amogos!!! I have a couple of completed projects I'd like to share!!! This month has been so hectic (as usual!) but I've still been able to create a few things!!!

Oh, by the way... TODAY IS MY TWO YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!! YAY!!!!!!

Any who, here are my creations :-)

The first is a card I created for Deconstructed Jen's Sketch #93.  My Aunt's birthday was last week and I couldn't help but use some new papers by Heidi Swapp!  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Aren't these papers AMAZING?!?  These are from the Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic paper collection.  I followed the sketch almost literally, adding only a few embellies!  I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder, added some flowers at the bottom by Recollections, and an adhesive border by Martha Stewart.

Next on the list is a page created for Sketch N Scrap's sketch # 28.  I also combined this with my weekly Twisted Thursday Challenge over at Sketches4All where the focus this week is on distressing.  Here is the original sketch:

And here is my take on it...

I had some papers from the new Bo Bunny Mamarazzi 2 collection that have been sitting on my desk, calling my name!!! These photos were perfect for them!  This is my daughter on her very first field trip to the Glazier Museum here in Tampa.  Isn't she so adorable?!?!?

Well gang, thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

SYS Challenge #3!

Hey gang!!! So, I was out of town this weekend thinking I would have time to finish all my online duties on the road... until I got there and had NO available wifi!!! Ahhhhhh!!!!! Any who, I have my page for Challenge #3 over at Scrap Your Story.  This week, your challenge is to create a layout using the following sketch designed by our very own Christy Skinner:

And here is what I came up with...

I just purchased this new Heidi Swapp paper collection and I LOVE IT!!!!! The pattern papers are beautiful!!!! I followed the sketch quite literally, changing only the layout of the photos.  These are photos of my sister's senior year and for her album.  I cut the arrows on my CE2, and the banners were cut by hand, some coming with the paper.  I also took some grungeboard starts and arrow, applied rub-ons, then misted and inked it, using the rub-ons as a resist for Andrea's Stash challenge over at Colorful Creations :-)  Aren't these girl so beautiful?!?!  Oh, to be 18 again!! Hahahaha!!!

Well gang.... Thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Tim Holtz Birthday Card!

Okay, I will leave you alone after this... I swear it!!!!! I just had to share a birthday card I made for my father this past week.  He's worked in the auto industry his entire life and absolutely LOVES cars.  He truly knows them like the back of his hand... It's amazing!!!!

Any who, I decided to use the Tim Holtz Lost and Found Paper Stash to make this one.  The license plates paper was perfect for the background and I happened to have the car stamp.  I stamped it on the bg paper first, then again on Grungepaper and fussy cut it, added pop dots to the back, and placed atop the other one.
Here's a look:
I stamped the sentiment directly onto grungepaper and distressed and inked the edges.  All the pieces in the "card holder" at the top were adhered to grungepaper using mod-pode, distressed, inked, and placed inside using super-glue.  I also used my 1inch circle punch to cut out the bottlecap paper from a piece of coordinating paper, and used some mod-podge to adhere it to the top of an actual bottlecap by Tim Holtz.  I used various other stamps by Tim Holtz to make the background on the "orange" paper, added some twine and a button and voila!!! There you have it!!! An awesome vintage card for my dad :-)

Thanks again guys and have a LUCKY day :-)

A little bit of Green and that's no blarney!

Hey there my wonderful followers!!!! Yes, it's March... and with that comes St Patty's day... which YOU know I will be scrapping being that I'm and Irish lady myself :-)

We are currently hosting the Pot Of Gold Crop over at Colorful Creations with NUMEROUS challenges and chances to win some fabulous goodies!!!! My challenge is to create a project using an "Irish themed" stamp.  Now, no need to run out and purchase a Leprachaun leaping over a pot of gold... this can be as simple as making a "Good Luck" card, or Best of Luck", even a beer stamp or Shamrocks!!!

I decided to make a very simple "Happy St Patty's Day" card using a little bit of green cardstock and Kraft.  Here it is:

I had an old Irish Blessing stamp that I received in a scrapbook haul about a year ago.  I also stamped some clovers on white paper, then embossed it.

Here is another I made for Anne's Say it With Words Crop challenge where you must use the word Lucky on your project.

I stamped the word "Lucky" on some vellum then adhered it to coordinating paper. Then I added atop of corrugated board that I dyed using various distress stains and glimmer mist.  Isn't it cute?!?!?

I'd also like to share a card I made for Paula's Anything Goes Challenge!  Her challenge this month is to create a project using black, white and a touch of emerald green.  I again decided to make a card using scraps of DCWV Bella Armoire paper stack I had lying around!  The sketch is the Deconstructed Sketch #91.
Here is the original sketch...

And my card...
Isn't it lovely?!?

Well gang, thanks again for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Let's Get Sketchy... The Last!!!

And this is the last time you'll hear from me about the Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop... I SWEAR!!! Well, it's over at midnight so I guess it will have to be!! I created one last card that I wanted to share with you... and then I'll leave you alone... Well, at least for a day or so!!! Hahaha!!!

Any who, here is my last entry.  I chose to create a card using inspirations from Lanette's Blog Hop photos.  She had this really cute card made with wonderful pattern paper and I just couldn't resist!!!

Here is her beautiful card:

And here is mine:

I had some scraps of some Stampin Up! paper that I hadn't used in a while and thought it perfect for the challenge!!! The paper is from the "Bandstand" kit and comes with little banner pieces and everything!!! The sentiment is a vellum quote by K&Company.  And that's a wrap!!!!!

Thanks again gang!! Have a wonderful night!

Let's Get Sketchy... Again!!!!

Hello all!!! A quick drop in to share another card I made for the Let's Get Sketchy Blog Hop!!!!
This time, I was inspired by Carla's blog hop photos and made this birthday card for my Father!!! Hope you enjoy :-)
So, Carla posted this amazing pic of this beautiful card... And I just wanted to copy the "layout" of it soooo bad.  Since my Father's birthday was yesterday, I figured why not give it a shot!!!! Here is her original card...

Isn't it sooo cute?!?  I loved the idea of the three strips of paper under the border.

Any who, here is my take on it!!!
Unfortunately, I was not able to finish it in time for natural sunlight so the picture quality isn't the best, but it will do!!! I flipped it of course and used three of the same colored papers instead of different pattern papers.  I used various papers by DCWV and Coordinations and a clock stamp by Hero Arts!  The chipboard word "time" was actually from a Recollections pack of words and was originally blue and said "timeless".  After a little "editing" (obviously I cut off the end, then heat embossed with garnet colored powder) I was able to get it to coordiante with my colors :-)

Well gang, thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day!!!!

SYS Challenge #2

Hey Gang!!!! It's another WONDERFUL Friday here in sunny Florida which means another wonderful challenge at Scrap Your Story!!! This week's challenge is to create a layout with animals in mind.  Nowm this can be either photos of animals, animal paper, embellies, etc... Use your imagination!!!
I happened to have some photos lying around from the last time we went to Animal Kingdom so why not scrap them up?!?!?  There's an area there where you can "dig up" dinosaur bones and fossils that's very neat for the kiddies!  They have a huge dinosaur "skelton" for the kiddies to look at, amongst other wonderful things!

I started by using a sketch by Tabitha Triplett... Here it is:

And here is what I've come up with:

I started by using the "Wild Saffron" paper collection by K&Company which I think is perfect for this type of layout!  I combined it with a die-cut pack by K&Company also that fit right in with the theme.  The chipboard "flowers" are by Basic Grey but I thought they had a "bone-y" look so I added them on!  I also used some grungeboard arrows from Tim Holtz that I dyed with Walnut Stain Distress Stain and inks, then went over it with Ranger's Perfect Pearls.  I did the same for the large chipboard "D" in the word discover.  I added a small amount to the rest of the word for them to match!  Here's a close-up...

For the "bones" at the top, I cut out various bones in various sizes using my "Movable Monsters" Cartridge on the Cricut Expression 2, then used some mod-podge to adhere them to plain grungepaper. After they dried, I painted them using Vinatge White color, and a few more coats of mod-podge for the glossed over look.  I put them on a "ring" to look like a collection!!! The letters are by Recollections and the rub on by My Minds Eye.

Well my friends, thanks for stopping in and have a LUCKY day!!!!
