Here's a look at this week's sketch:

And here's my layout:

This is my oldest daughter taken two Christmas' ago!

I used the Pink Paislee "Noel" paper pad, distressing all the edges and adding a bit of ink.  I made a small border to add under the photo using an EK Success paper punch, then topping it off with flowers and homemade bling!  I used some Thickers from my stash to create the title and added a small banner at the top!  Easy peasy :-)

Simple Stories "Homespun" Personalized Home Decor!!!

Hello again my crafty friends!!!  I'm up on the blog today to share with you some fabulous projects using the Simple Stories "Homespun" Collection from the Frosted Designs Store!!!

First, I have to say that I am in love with this collection!!!  I've always been a fan of Simple Stories but this collection totally rocks!!!!  Before I received it in the mail I was already plotting on all the projects I was going to make with it!!!

I started with a simple altered frame.  Here's a look:

Isn't it adorable?!?  You really can't go wrong with these papers!!!  From the patterns, to the chipboard, cut-outs and die-cuts, you can seriously make a ton of projects!!!

I started with a basic frame and used some mod podge to adhere the red paper as my base.  I added one of the sticker borders that's included, cutting only the length I needed to cover the frame!

Then I just embellished away!!!  I added on some chipboard pieces, layering some of them for added detail, some stickers, and a tiny banner!

I finished the frame with this adorable piece, adding a small bow and tiny resin flower!

Next on the list...  A wall hanging!!!
First, I have to tell you a little story.  I have this wall hanging in my house, that has this quote on it (almost verbatim!).  One of my very good friends mentioned previously that she loved it!!!  When she went to purchase one, they were all sold out.  So when I saw this quote in this collection, I knew exactly what I was going to do!
Here's a look at what I came up with:

See how perfect this is for home decor?!?  Love it!!!
I kept this one pretty simple.  I started with one of the pattern papers from the set and matted on the quote, using "Walnut Stain" distress ink around the edges.  I applied some red washi tape from the store to the corners of the papers.

I added a couple of stickers and the chipboard bicycle.  I wanted to personalize this for my friend so I used the sticker letters to add her family's name as well!

Since this is going to hang on the wall, I wanted a very sturdy "base".  I started with a piece of 12x12 chipboard and coated it with gesso.  Once dried, I added several layers of red acrylic paint, then adhered the page to the top of it.  I layered all the pieces to a piece of canvas board for a solid piece!

I finished it with a small piece of ribbon, using a staple gun to attach it to the back of the board.

New Card Sketch at Sketch N Scrap using 7 Dots Studio and Nirvana!

Hello everyone and Happy Easter!!!  I hope you're having a fun-filled day filled with lots of joy... And candy!!! Hahaha!!!!

Any who, I'm on the blog today to share with you a wonderful new sketch posted at Sketch n Scrap!
Here's a look at Sketch #24 by our very own Lisa Hidy:

I still have plenty left of my April Kit from Frosted Designs and wanted to play with some of the goodies!  So I used some of the 7 Dots Studio "Nature Walk" and "Nirvana" by Marion Smith papers to create my card.
Here's what I came up with:

I started with Kraft as my card base, then added the weathered wood paper from the Nature Walk collection.  It already has the white paint splat design on the paper so it didn't need much treatment!  I simply distressed the edges and added some Walnut Stain Distress ink.  I finished the piece with a few ink drops of Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Cattail Copper Brown!

I used up some of my Creative Embellishments Chipboard, treating it with the Mission Bells Brown magical included in the kit as well!

I LOVE the Prima Burlap flowers in the kit and had to use one on this card!!! It was perfect for the sketch as well :-)  I finished the card by adding it to the center, tucking some leaves (colored with the Bundled Sage distress marker), and adding some Prima vines for added glitz!!!

There you have it!!!  Another fabulous creation using another fabulous kit!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

New Sketch at Colorful Creations and 7 Dots Studio Illumination!!!

Well hello there my crafty neighbors!!!  I'm on the blog today to share with you a brand new sketch challenge for Colorful Creations!!!

"Just Let Go" with 7 Dots Studio "Illumination" Collection
It's mid month and time for another fabulous sketch at Colorful Creations!!!  I absolutely LOVED working this sketch, and had a blast playing with this new collection!!!

So, any who...  Here is this week's sketch:

This is also my very first challenge over at Scrap Around The World!  I've followed their blog and Facebook page for quite some time, and am always in awe over the VERY talented design team and member entries!!!  I know my work doesn't even come close to the beautiful art on their site, but I decided to "just let go" and give it a shot anyway!!!

Here is the SATW Mood Board for April:

Isn't it fabulous?!?  LOVE IT!!!!
And here is my page:

This is one of my favorite photos of me and my husband!!!  It was taken aboard a dinner cruise shortly before our actual cruise to the Bahamas!
I started with one of the papers from the "Illumination" collection and went to work creating my background!
I added a some gesso to the center of the page, then added various Gelatos atop of it, spreading them around with my fingers and a bit of water.  I used White Dylusions mist to create the spatters at the top left and bottom right, and a black stamp marker with the circle template to create circles across the page.

After I was satisfied with my background, I started layering on my papers, stickers, and various embellishments.  I was inspired by the beautiful butterflies in the mood board so I added some from the "Beauty of Nature" April kit at Frosted Designs!  I used my Lindy's Magicals to add some color and shine to both of them!
For the chipboard one, I used "Whale Watch Blue"...

And for the metal one, I applied some gesso first, then the "Cape Cod Coral" magical:

I used my "Victorian Velvet" distress ink to color the coordinating chipboard pieces from the collection, then added Lindy's Stamp Gang "Glitz Spritz" for added color and shine!

I finished the page with some circles created with more liquid pearls, a ton of flowers, and distress glitter!

Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Brand New Sketch and Design Team Announcement!!!!

Hello to all my fellow crafters out there!!!!  I come to you today with some very exciting news!!!

If any of you have followed my blog for any length of time, you know that I LOVE working with sketches!!!  I have been playing along over at Let's Get Sketchy for quite some time now, and was recently offered a Design Team Position!!!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my very FIRST sketch as a DT member and I cannot tell you how excited I am to work with these AMAZING, and VERY talented, ladies!!!!
Any who, here is this week's sketch:

Most of you also know that I am working on a Vacation Scrapbook Album for my father so you will be seeing quite a bit of these photos and the Heidi Swapp Travel Themed Paper Collection!!!!
Here's the next page in the book:

These pictures were taken at the port in Ochos Rios and at a quick stop at a local eatery!

I absolutely LOVED this sketch!!!!  I just might use it again very soon :-)
As this album is a gift, and I am trying to keep the costs down, I have decided to make use of all the elements in the collection that can be fussy cut to embellish your pages!  It was one of my main deciding factors on purchasing this collection in the first place!

I kept the page pretty simple and followed the sketch quite literally!  I used textured white cardstock as my background and added a few drops of Black Dylusions ink to the top and bottom.

I used Faded Jeans Distress Ink to distress the edges of the papers and add some contrast to the background!  The stars were fussy cut from the paper pad and some were adhered using pop-dots.

I added some final touches with Liquid Pearls, which are always sure to dress up your page, without costing a fortune!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

New Handwriting Challenge at Frosted Designs!!!

Hello all!!!  It's time again for another amazing challenge over at Frosted Designs!!!

This time around, your challenge is to add handwritten journaling to your project!!!  This can be a title, sub-titling, journaling, doodling, etc....  There is also a requirement to add either paint, inks, or mists to your project!!

I used this AMAZING sketch from Let's Get Sketchy as my base (Sorry it's sooo small and blurry!!!!):

I just so happened to have photos of my youngest daughter's third birthday handy so I decided to scrap those!
Here's my layout:

I just love the pop of color from the buttons against the black background!!  And this collection from Elle's Studio has quickly become one of my favs!!  It truly is perfect for scrapping "Everyday Moments"!
I started my page with black Bazzil cardstock and scored the lines of the sunburst into the background.  Then I just added various buttons from my collection in groups!

Aside from the buttons, I kept the page pretty simple!  I didn't want to take away from all the buttons by layering up a whole bunch of papers and embellishments!
I used the Kraft Sticker Letters by Elle's Studio and colored them with a Black Sharpie marker.  I also used some Spectrum Noir Markers to color some Thickers I had in my stash to match the colors of the page!

I added some of the wood veneers from the Everyday Moments" pack and used gesso mixed with Ranger's Alcohol Ink in Buttercream to add some color to them.  I misted them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Spritz for some shine!

I finished my page with some Liquid Pearls and tiny bling dots!!!

Well gang!!!!  Thanks soooo much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Frosted Designs "Beauty of Nature" April Kit Challenge!!!

Hello to all my fellow crafters!!!  April has arrived and so has the wonderful "Beauty of Nature" Kit from Frosted Designs!!!  Time again for another "Kit" Challenge :-)

This month, your challenge is to use the following sketch created by our very own Lisa Hidy:

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A LAYOUT!!!!!!  You can create a card, canvas, altered project, or anything that floats your boat!!!!  GET CREATIVE!!!!!

And now on to my projects:
I chose to do a layout and an altered tin!
Here's my first project:

I "trimmed" the sketch down a bit to accommodate my page.  Then, I went to work!!!
I mixed the Lindy's "Mission Bells Brown" Magical with some molding paste, and then, using the harlequin template, I added some texture and color to the page.

Next, I added small splats of Black Dylusions Ink from my stash and added circles using the circle template and the Walnut Stain Distress Marker from the kit.

After distressing and layering all my papers and photo, I embellished with flowers and die-cuts from the kit!  I took the Maya Road chipboard and colored it with the Walnut Stain Distress Marker, then went over it with the Brown Lindy's Magical using my water brush!

Nest on the list is an altered tin I created using the same sketch, only altering it it a bit for my project!  Remember, the sketch is merely a guideline for the "base" of your project!!!  Feel free to tweak it, turn it, or flip it to make it your own!
Here's a look at my next project:

I flipped the sketch for this one and got creative!
I used the one of the beautiful Nirvana papers for my background, inking the edges with a Walnut Stain Distress Ink!  I layered on some of the other papers from the kit to meet the sketch requirements!  After all my papers were down, I got to work embellishing!
I just LOVE the Prima wooden "stamps" in this kit and knew I had to use them here!  I colored them both with the Walnut Stain Distress Marker, then used my waterbrush to add the Brown Lindy's Magical over top.

I added some of the Kaisercraft Chocolate Pearls and the 7 Dots Studio die-cuts for a little extra detail!  I colored the Prima wooden butterfly with another Distress Marker from my stash and topped it off with Blue Lindy's Magical for some shine!

I finished the tin with various die-cuts, flowers, and one of the Prima Crochet icons.

There you have it!!!  An altered project using the sketch above!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)
