Last Reveal for Let's Get Sketchy with 7 Dots Illumination Collection!!!

Hello fellow crafters and happy Monday!  It's a bitter sweet day for me today as I say goodbye to the wonderful ladies over at Let's Get Sketchy!  As much as I love working on the team, my life has become quite a bit hectic with my invitation business in full swing!

So without further ado, here is this week's sketch:

I also combined this sketch with Scrap Around the World's FAB-U-LOUS moodboard for the month of September:

I knew as soon as I saw this board that I wanted to scrap my wedding pics of myself!  My wedding was everything I could've asked for and more and to marry my best friend was (and is still) a fairy tale come true!!!  He is truly my soul mate :-)

I won't get all mushy here on you guys so here is my take on the sketch and board:

I was inspired by the overall "fairy tale" theme of the board and of course incorporated that into my layout in various places.  Also the colors, especially the pinks, greys, and blacks!  The heart box with cogs reminded me of a clock so I added a large clock die-cut in the background and colored it to match the hues on my page!

I started my page by adding my background using a layering stencil with some molding paste.  Once dried, I used my finger and rubbed various gelatos over top to add some color.  I also flicked some Lindy's Stamp Gang mist for added detail and some shimmer :-)  I found some shipboard squares in my stash and decided to add them to my page as well!  They were colored with Maya Road white mist, gelatos, and mist.

I LOVE Creative Embellishments chipboard and had to add some to my page!  My title and circle panel were coated with gesso, then colored with various inks and/or gelatos, then misted with clear shimmer spray for some shine!  I also added a resin fairy from last month's kit over at Frosted Designs to tie in the overall theme!

I knew I had to have a healthy portion of flowers on my layout so I made a cluster in between the pics, adding more resin pieces along the way!  I used some liquid pearls for added accents in areas around the page!

I finished the page with some letter stickers and bling!!!

Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Moments and Memories with Sketch N Scrap!

Hello everyone!!!! Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend thus far :-)

I'm popping in today to share a wonderful new sketch over at Sketch N Scrap!
Here's a look at card sketch #34:

I used this month's kit from Frosted Designs to create this card:

I absolutely LOVE the colors in this kit!!!  They go beautifully together :-)
I started my card by layering up some of the papers in the kit, adding ink and distressing along the way!  I grabbed a Creative Embellishments chipboard window from my stash and altered it with inks, mists, and crackle paint (my new favorite medium!).

I wanted to add the beautiful wood piece included in the kit as well and decided to color it with Lindy's Stamp gang mists and some Luminarte Paints from my stash.  I topped it off with some liquid pearls for added accents :-)

I finished the card with some stickers from the kit and one of the wooden butterflies, which was colored with black and white dylusions sprays!

Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Somewhere in Time with Colorful Creations!

Hello everyone!!!  It's that time of the month for a brand new sketch up over at Colorful Creations!!!

Here's a look at the mid-month sketch:

I used a whole slew of goodies from previous Frosted Designs Kits to come up with this masculine page:

This picture of my husband was taken from our balcony aboard a cruise ship on our honeymoon!  It's one of my favs of him :-)

I started with some papers from the "Enchanted kit" and added a large circle die-cut which was misted and inked.  I grabbed the wooden ATC card by Prima from the "Capture the Moment" kit and misted it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst pearls, inked the edges with distress ink, then added black splatters using Dylusions spray!

I'm a HUGE fan of Creative Embellishments chipboard for a number of reasons:
The styles they offer, the "alterability" of the chipboard without losing it's shape, and the overall look it adds to ANY project!  So I grabbed some gears and my title (both from CE) and started to work on them!  I used "white picket fence" Dylusions spray to give them a white coat, then added various LSG mists for a distressed look.  I finished them off with a dab of crackle paint for texture :-)

I even added some to the clock that was printed on Prima paper, then fussy cut and added behind my photo!

Here's a look at the title using the same techniques!

The page looked quite simple to me so I added additional gears and sprockets, using brads from the "Capture the Moment" kit to hold them down, and Tim Holtz rub-ons from the Enchanted kit in various circles!

No page is complete without flowers so I threw on some flowers by Prima and Recollections to finish it off!

Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Wishes Come True with Heidi Swapp "Hello Today" Collection!

Hello there crafters!!!  Can you believe we are in the month of September already?!?  Seriously.... Where does the time ago?!?

I'm here today with a wonderful card sketch from Sketch N Scrap!
Here's this month's sketch:

And here is my card:

I've been having so much fun playing with the Heidi Swapp "Hello Today" Collection from the Frosted Designs Store!
I decided to use this sketch to make a birthday card for my sister :-)  I started with a Kraft base, layering up my papers and inking the edges along the way!  I added some acrylic starts to my card and wrapped some hemp cord around it to accommodate the sketch!
I used my Ephiany Crafts circle punch and a bottle-cap stamp to create the pendant (that is removable!).

I finished the card with a sentiment from Stampin Up! and some blue distress ink!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

We Are Family Altered Burlap Panel!!!

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!!!!  Can you believe it's already September?!?  A new month, a new kit, and a NEW challenge!!!!

Here's a look at this month's AMAZING kit:

This picture really does not do this kit justice!!!  When I opened the box and saw all these beautiful colors, I was in awe!!!!  I purchased some burlap panels a while back and decided to finally get them out and blow off the dust!!!  I've stayed away from them merely because burlap is not the easiest to work with, in my opinion.  But I love these papers and embellies and wanted to make a wall hanging with them so burlap it was!

Here's a look at my finished piece:

I did a little step-by-step tutorial for the background of my panels to help out the next person who may want to give this a shot!  I learned a few things along the way so I thought I'd share my process :-)
I started by adding some gesso around the panels which was a bit difficult!  I tried a foam brush, a dobber, and finally decided my finger was the best way to get the job done!

I grabbed the mixed media ink from the kit (LOVE!!!!) and applied it directly to areas around the panels.  This ink is nice and wet and goes on very smoothly to any surface I've tried so far!

I used a layering stencil and distress ink to add some depth...

then I used the layering stencil in the kit with molding paste to add some texture!

I took the Stamper's Big Brush Pen (love these pens!!!) and outlined the die-cuts I wanted on my panel.  You have to be VERY careful doing this as a light touch is needed or you will draw on your embellishment, instead of just outlining it!  I've had a lot of practice using this technique with permanent markers and have always loved the defined look it adds to any piece!

Then, the fun part...  I went to work embellishing!!!  This kit is full of beautiful die-cuts, wooden and metal embellishments, enamel dots and more!  It was fun to put it all together for this piece!

And there you have it!!!  A beautiful piece to fill in some white space on my walls, made with only a few bits and pieces from this AMAZING kit!!!!  Stay tuned for the second panel!!!!!!!!!!

Now it's your turn!!!!!!  Submit your projects using ANY Frosted Designs Kits (past or present) to be entered into our monthly drawing!  One random winner will be selected to win a fabulous prize!!!  This month's sponsor is:

You have until noon on September 30th to upload your entries!!!!  WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?  Happy Scrapping :-)
