Happy Halloween: Altered Mini Coffin and Steampunk Card!!!

Hello everyone and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!  This is big day here in the states and one of my favorite holidays of the year!!!!  I'm just popping in to share some projects I created this month for this splendid day :-)

This is a card I created for WCM over at Sketch N Scrap!  The challenge here was to create a Halloween card or card made using primarily orange (something I barely have at all in my stash!!!).  Here's a look:

Frosted Designs is also showing off some fabulous Halloween projects on the blog today!  I created an altered mini-coffin using the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells collections!  Here's a look:

Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Altered Shadow Box with Frosted Design's Summer's End Kit!!!!

Hello out there to all my crafty friends!!!  August is upon us, which means Fall is right around the corner!  I just love the beautiful colors of Fall, but terribly miss the warmth of Summer!  Well Frosted Designs has the perfect solution....  Summer's End August Kit of the Month!

This kit has beautiful hues, including blue, gold, and a touch of red!  It's great for all your summer photos, and upcoming Fall ones as well!

I recently purchased a shadow box at my local craft store (I am a bargain hunter and these were nearly free!).  When this kit arrived, I knew exactly how I wanted to put it to use!  Here's a look:

Aren't these colors amazing?!?  Oh, I just LOVE them!  These are family pics taken many years ago, but are still seen around my house in all sorts of places!

I started by painting my box a cool white color, then used some mod podge (matt used here) to adhere my papers into place!  I grabbed my Xacto knife to cut out the center piece of paper to let that inside show through, then used a white Uni Ball pen to add faux stitching around the entire box!

I've stated before that Frosted Design's kits are so wonderful, that you can use them together to create all sorts of fabulous things!  Well, I used the bottle caps, metal scissor trinket, flowers, and stickers all from previous kits!  I also used the sticker flowers and Petaloo flowers from this kit to create a cluster at the bottom of my box (the Blue Chalkboard mist came in handy to die my flower!), and added one of the doilies beneath it.

I more of the blue mist to spray my background die-cut and add small splatters across my page!

I finished the box with other stickers and flowers included in the kit, and more faux stitching around the papers on the inside!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Upcycling using Heidi Swapp Collection and wood veneer trays for CMS!!!!

Hey there fellow crafters!!!  Happy August!!!  Yes, that's right... It is already August!!  And that means wonderful new challenges with fabulous inspiration for you :-)

"Beautiful New Day" with Heidi Swapp "Hello Today" Collection
First up is an altered wood veneer tray I made for this month's color combo at Color Me Scrappy!
Here's a look at the challenge:

I recently purchased the Heidi Swapp "Hello Today" Paper Pad from the Frosted Designs Store and have fell in love!  Anyone who has seen my crafting for any period of time knows that I LOVE Heidi Swapp!!!  So, of course I had to put it to good use!
Any who, here's a look at what I came up with:

Can you believe this is an altered wood veneer tray?!?  You know those small wooden trays your beautiful, laser cut wood veneers come in?!? Yep, that's what this is!
We had to incorporate something we "love" into our project and I LOVE life!!!  Every single day is a blessing!  So I made an inspirational wall hanging for my craft area (which also happens to be my "office") to remind me that every day is beautiful!
I started by painting my piece with a coral color, splattering blue Lindy's mist on it, then coating it with gesso to tone it down a bit!

I used mod podge (matte) to adhere my papers down, then began to embellish!  I cut the words "live, laugh, and love" using my Cricut Explore, then treated them with a coat of gesso and colored them with various gelatos.

I grabbed one of the resin clocks from last month's kit at Frosted Designs and inked it with distress ink and a gold metallic gelato.  I also added flowers by Petaloo for added detail!

I finished the hanging with some ribbon and additional flowers!

There you have it guys!!  Upcycling can be fabulous!!!!

"Enjoy this Moment" with Heidi Swapp "Hello Today"
Next on the list is a scrapbook layout I created for the new A Cutt Above the Rest blog!!! This blog is dedicated to the ACA Store which provides all sorts of cut files and png files for your die-cut machines!
Here's a look at my first layout for the blog:

I did a simple page here using the same collection listed above!  I wanted to keep it simple to show off the amazing cut file I used!

Isn't it amazing?!?  I added some gold liquid pearls to accentuate the die-cut and make it stand out more against the background and finished the page with some flowers by Petaloo!

You can find this, and MANY more cut files in the shop here!

Well gang...  Thanks soooo much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)
