Designing with Creative Embellishments for Scrap Around the World!!!!!

Hey there folks!!!!  I have some very exciting news today:  Creative Embellishments is guest designing over at Scrap Around the World this month!!!!  Isn't that fabulous?!?!?!?!

Here is this month's amazing mood board over at SATW:

I LOVE the colors and the overall theme of the board. I used several aspects to create the following page of my oldest daughter:

As you can see, I clearly was inspired by some of the colors (greens, browns, and whites!).  The bottom three pictures give me an overall "explore" feeling so I included that as my title, using the pattern of colors from the boat to color my actual title piece!  I used lots of flowers, drawing inspiration from the first photo, and a "wood" background from the bridge in the middle bottom row!

I used several CE goodies on my page, altering them in different ways!
I started by creating a background using black distress inks and the Binary , Distressed Burlap, and Distressed Checkered   Stamps from the store.

I drew some squares with water color pencils, adding small amounts of water to soften them out, then added a number of nesting Squares around the page, coloring them with different distress markers!

Using a stencil and molding paste, I added some texture to my page, stamping over top for more depth :-)

I used the Explore title from the Adventure Word Set, coloring it with distress markers, then adding a coat of crackle paint in rock candy for some texture!

I finished the page with a big heap of various flowers to throw in some color and girly-ness!!!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Making it TOTALLY AWESOME for 2 Broke Girls Scraps!!!

Happy Friday all!!!! Although Fall is upon us, you would not be able to tell that from living here in Florida... What a scorcher!!!!

Any who... As you all know, 2 Broke Girls is hosting a MONTH LONG Sketch A Thon with tons of different sketches and lots of great prizes!!! In my previous post, I shared with you my first few completed sketches (sketches # 1,2,4,5,11,12,13).  This post will share the rest (3,6,7,8,9,10,14)!!! That's right... I've completed ALL the sketches!!!! A little caffeine can go a long way!!! Hahahaha!!!!

A very close friend of mine recently gave birth to her very first baby (it's a boy!).  Since I craft practically for a living, I decided the best gift I could give her would be a handmade Baby Boy Scrapbook!!! It's still a work in progress, but this Sketch A Thon has really moved my progress right along!!!  Keep in mind though, since this is a gift, there are NO PHOTOS in any of these!!!!

Now this friend of mine is no "ordinary" chic... Nope.  She's a TOTALLY AWESOME gal with a ROCKIN personality.  So what better way to express her baby boy's pictures than in a TOTALLY AWESOME baby book?!?  Well sit back and watch the awesomeness... Literally!!! Hahahaha!!!!  I used the "Awesome Boy" signature paper pad by Recollections to make these pages and it's absolutely perfect for this one cool kid!!!

 Tammy Sketch #3: "Authentic Boy"
Here is the sketch:

And my page:

A few layers of papers, some liquid pearls, and an embossed guitar on Grungepaper complete this page!

Michelle Sketch #6: "Put on your Seatbelt..."
Here is her sketch:

And my layout:

I fussy cut the stars from coordinating paper and pop-dotted a few of them.  I also added some liquid pearls to this one for added detail.

Miwa Sketch #7: "Boys Rule, Girls Drool!"
The Sketch:

And my page:

Yes, more Liquid Pearls and some more fussy cutting.  I embossed the photo mat and "grunged" it up a bit.  I finished this one with three eyelets down the side for added detail!

Karen Sketch #8: "Basically, I ROCK"
Here is her sketch:

Here is my page:

I wasn't sure about this one at first but it actually turned out to be one of my favs!!! I fussy cut some banner pieces at the top and added the top of a bingo card.  I also used a Tim Holtz rub-on on some cork, then cut it to look like a banner!!!! I added eight eyelets down the right side of the photo and threaded some Tim Holtz paper cord through it to serve as a pocket for "Love Notes"!!! A couple of K&Company embellies finished this one off!

Cyndy Sketch #9: "This is Me"
The Sketch:

My layout:

This is the second half of a double pager so I flipped this sketch a bit to keep things cohesive!!!  I used layers upon layers, then used my Spellbinders "Sprockets" die to cut out some gears from coordinating paper.

Tabby Sketch #10: "Rock Star!!!"
Her Sketch:

And my page:

I didn't have much sunlight for this one but the photo seemed to turn out okay.  I added various embellies by K&Company and Jolees for this page, and again with the layers.  It's a habit... a BAD one!!!! Hahahaha!!!!!

Here is her sketch:

And my final page:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch, of course adding my own flavor to the mix!!! Some more liquid pearls,a few gears and stars, and fussy cut banner pieces.  Simple, yet sweet!!!!

Well my friends... Thanks sooo much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

New Scrap Your Story Challenge and more!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!!! It's been SUPER hot here in Florida lately!!! We're already breaking the 100's and it's not even July!!!! It's gonna be a hot one :-)

You Brighten My Days!
Well, I'm not just here to blab... As much as I LOVE to!!! It's Friday which means another wonderful challenge over at Scrap Your Story!!
This week's challenge is to create a page using polaroids.  That's it!!! Just use them somewhere on your page and you're in it to win it!!! Hahaha!!!  I also used the second monthly sketch over at Sketch N Scrap to complete the layout.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my example:

This is my youngest daughter on Easter of this year.  I just LOVE these photos!!! Any who, I decided to keep this page very simple.  Which is pretty hard for me to do!!! I always want to add more and more and more until the page no longer fits in the scrapbook sleeve!!! Hahaha!!!!
The papers are Martha Stewart and an unknown brand behind the photos.  I created the polaroids using grungepaper and black paint.  Then I just added green polka dot rub-ons from October Afternoon to add detail.  I also used rub-ons to add detail to the balloon strings!  And that's all!! Another one bites the dust :-)

Take Your Place, Make Your Mark, Live Your Life
I'd also like to share with you a page I created for my Father In Law.  This was included into an altered frame where I used coordinating papers and metal corner pieces to finish it.  I used a sketch by 2 Broke Girls and papers by Recollections (which I am in LOVE with, by the way!!!).   Here is the sketch:

And my creation:

Isn't it fabulous?!?!?  This is my Father In Law with all four of his sons on my wedding day!!! They all look so wonderful!!!!
I used various embellies by Tim Holtz (compass, gears, photo tape, and "spinners?!?"), label by K&Company, and unknown metal letters.  For the photo tape, I actually printed photos at 3/4 of an inch and inserted them on the back using double sided tape by Martha Stewart.  I also used Liquid Pearls by Ranger to "frame" the photo.  Love, love, LOVE this one!!!!

Well, gang, thanks so much for listening to me blab!!! Have a LUCKY day :-)

It's Amore!

Afternoon my nifty crafters!!! I have a quick page to share with you guys :-)
I FINALLY finished my page for my Creative Monthly Project Challenge at Colorful Creations that starts TOMORROW!!!! Hahahaha!!!! And... I decided to use the February sketch over at Cest Magnifique to complete it!!! Here's a look at the sketch...

Isn't is BEAUTIFUL?!?!?  I was so excited to play wit this one.  There is just so much detail!
So after choosing the sketch I wanted to work with, I had to decide on what my challenge for the month would be.  And I decided DETAIL would be the challenge.  This sketch just gave me so much inspiration to add layer, upon layer, upon layer of papers, flowers, and embellishments.  Here is my final page...

Isn't it so pretty?!?!?  I wanted to do a "love" themed page so I decided on red, black, and white (one of my FAV combos to work with!).  I chose various pattern papers from the Bella Armoire stack by DCWV to make my page.  I found a chipboard circle in my stash and added strips of various red papers around it with mod podge.  Then I used my Cricut and my Oriental Iron 2 cartridge to create the black and white die-cut in the background.  After I got that down on the paper, I just started to play!  I used my new Spellbinders Spiral Blossom 2 die to make a couple of layered flowers, adding decorative pearls and brads to the center to finish them off.  Other flowers are by Recollections, aside from two Petaloo colorable flowers that I misted with Distress Stain and Perfect Pearls.  I also added two Prima buttons that I tied twine through.  The number squares in the corner by Basic Grey spell out "I Love You" in numbers :-)  The title "Amore" is by K&Company and I heat embossed it with Garnet embossing powder to match the color scheme.  Doesn't it look "lovely"?!?!?!?

Well my friends, thanks for stopping in... Have a LUCKY day :-)
