New Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs with Prima's Time Traveler Collection!!!!

Whew!!!  It has been one busy month for me!!!  I feel like I've been writing a post every other day or so!!!!

Any who, I'm here today with a fabulous new Friday Challenge posted at Frosted Designs!   Your challenge is to use stitching AND flowers on your project!!
Here's what I created:

This is a card I made for my husband using the June "Capture the Moment" kit at Frosted Designs!
I started with a Kraft base, then layered up several papers and embellies from the kit!

I used several techniques to alter the wood ATC pieces included in the kit, including using mists, markers, white gelly roll pen, Prima Stamps, and letter stickers from past kits!

I added some pop dots for dimension!

I cut up a brick panel piece from Creative Embellishments  , then added some inks and mists!

I finished the card with the beautiful Prima script ribbon from the kit, and used my gelly roll pen to create some faux stitching around the border!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Capture the Moment Altered Clock with Prima's Time Traveler Collection!!!

Hey there fellow crafters!!!  Stopping by the blog today to share an altered clock I made recently for my hubby's birthday!!!  I used June' gorgeous "Capture the Moment" kit from Frosted Designs and other products from previous month's kits as well!!!

Here's a look at the finished piece:

I've wanted to do one of these for quite some time.  The colors and patterns in this kit made it perfect to finally get it done!
I first printed out a clock on one of the Prima papers from the kit and adhered it to the backing of the clock.   I grabbed various embellishments from the kit and my stash and added them around the piece.  This picture was taken on my husband's 28th birthday so the little number piece was perfect!!!

I grabbed some trim and buttons, as well as some brads and added them for detail.  I used the Perfect Pearls mist in this month's kit to add color to the chipboard heart from last month's kit, then used the paint pen from last month's kit to add dimensional dots!

I finished the inside with one more brad that says "Us" and a flower tucked behind the picture!

Here's a look at the complete inside piece:

Now for the hard part....  Getting the clock to look old...  very old!!!!  I wanted an antiqued look and it took me some work!  I first coated the entire clock (which was a bright silver!!!) gesso.  Once dried, I started adding various mists (Lindy's and Dylsuions in store) and using my finger to spread them around.  I added a top coat of Luminarte Silks in Copper Brown for more color and some shine!

I then wrapped some film strip ribbon around the whole clock!

I embossed and misted some grungeboard from my stash, then added it to the piece with a button and some hemp cord.

I distressed the flowers with ink then added them with some brads and flair around the outer edge.

I finished the clock with a key and metal sentiment from my stash and put it all together!

I've said it a hundred times that Frosted Designs kits are soooo versatile! This is just one of many things I've created using only ONE kit!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Mid Month Sketch at Colorful Creations with Prima's Time Traveler Collection!!!

Hello all!!!  It has been a bit crazy around here the past few weeks but I am hoping to get back in the swing of things soon!

It's officially mid-month which means another sketch over at Colorful Creations!!
Here's a look at the sketch:

I decided to combine this week with this month's mood board at Scrap Around The World!

Isn't it fabulous?!?  I've been wanting to do a page with these colors for some time so this was the perfect opportunity to do so!!!
I was inspired not only by the colors, but by the flowers, the texture of the paved road, and also those round, yellow bicycle wheels!!!  I just had to add my circular chipboard piece from Creative Embellishments to represent the wheels on the bike!
Any who... Here's my page:

I really like these colors together... They are perfect for a masculine page!
As you can see, I used papers from the "Capture the Moment" June kit from Frosted Designs!  This kit features papers and embellies from Prima's "Time Traveler" collection as well as goodies from Ranger, Maya Road, and other major manufacturers!!! I've said it a hundred times before but these kits are so wonderful and versatile...  You can make girly pages, masculine pages, off the page projects and so much more!!!

So any who... Back to the layout!!  Hahaha!!! I started the page with one of the Time Travelers papers as my background, then added white Bazzil cardstock on top so that I could "build the page" myself!  I used various Tim Holtz layering stencils, along with inks, mists, gelatos, and molding paste to add some texture and depth to my background.

I grabbed a couple of stamps and my Faber Castell big brush pen to create more depth and add designs to the paper!

I've been wanting to use this circular chipboard piece for some time and knew I just had to add it on this page!!!  I coated it with gesso, then added yellow and black gelatos randomly to achieve my desired color.  I sprayed some Lindy's Glitz Spritz for some shine, then topped it off with liquid pearls and enamel accents!

I added various embellishments, most coated with some form of inks or sprays to match my layout, including wood veneers and chipboard arrows by Heidi Swapp.

I finished my page with a title from Creative Embellishments that was given the same treatment as the other main piece!

I'm glad I gave this color combo a whirl, I am truly happy with the end result!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

LGS with Prima's Time Traveler Collection!!!!

Hey there fellow crafters!!!  School is officially out here in Florida and summer is well under way!

I'm popping in today to share the new weekly sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy!  Here's a look:

LOVE this sketch!!!!  And, of course, I had to use the goodies from this month's "Capture the Moment" kit over at Frosted Designs! It's packed full of Prima products, including the new Time Traveler collection, as well as Cartographer, and Stationer's Desk too!  Just look at how beautiful these papers and embellies are!!!

From This Moment with Prima's Time Traveler Collection

I am truly having so much fun playing with all these Prima goodies!!!  It's like heaven over here!!!
I started my page by building up my background with molding paste and gelatos.

After blending the gelatos with a baby wipe, I did some random stamping using various stamps and a Faber Castell Big Brush Pen.

I found this chipboard postage stamp piece in my stash and decided to give it a treatment of Lindy's Starburst Pearls and the Perfect Pearls Spray included in this month's kit.

I gave the same treatment to one of the white Petaloo flowers, also in the FD store!

I ordered this bird cage template from the store and thought it perfect for this page!!!  I used some Walnut Stain distress ink and the liquid pearls from the kit to create this look.

The Prima trim in the kit is fabulous and goes with pretty much any style of crafting!!!  I used it to add a cute little bow around my picture!!!  I also added more flowers and wood icon pieces!

I finished the page with a chipboard title from Creative Embellishments (LOVE their chipboard!!!!).  I first sprayed it with the inks mentioned above, then heat embossed random areas with Distress Powder in black.

This is a very special page and will definitely go in our wedding album (one of them!!!).

Well gang...  Thanks soooo much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Frosted Designs June "Capture The Moment" Kit Challenge!!!!

Don't forget to stop by for your chance to win a $20.00 Frosted Designs Gift Certificate!!!!  Details can be found here.

This is just one of two fabulous posts lined up for you today so I hope you are ready!!!!

It's the 5th of the month which means a BRAND NEW KIT CHALLENGE is live over at Frosted Designs!!!!  This month's "Capture the Moment" kit is gorgeous, to say the least!!!!

The Prima "Time Traveler" Collection is featured in this fabulous array of papers, brads, flair, trim, and much, MUCH more!!!!  I couldn't wait to sit down and create something fabulous!!!

I've had this 7Gypsies chipboard house lying around for quite sometime that I FINALLY got around to once I received these wonderful goodies!!!
Here's a look:

Isn't it adorable?!?  And the papers are so versatile that I created two different looks for the front and back!

I started my "house" by adding various papers, inking them heavily with various distress inks.  I chose the photos I wanted then added them inside the precut squares.  I grabbed some flowers and some of the embellishments and got to work decorating my "house!!!  Hahaha!!!!

For the center piece on each side, I used contrasting papers from the side panels to make it stand out a bit!  I used several of the Prima ATC cards and tags, as well as the library cards for embellishing!

The burlap butterflies and flowers are darling and definitely had to be included here!

I have always been of fan of Liquid Pearls and am soooo happy they were included in this month's kit!!!  They add just the right amount of detail to any type of project!  You can also use them to create bling swirls with a bit of acetate and a template!

For the back, I wanted something more "elegant" looking because I wanted photos of me and my husband!!!  I chose to use the blacks and whites for this side as well as B&W photographs!

As you can see, I used more of the ATC cards on the back, also heavily inked with Distress Inks (Walnut Stain and Black Soot).  I added some tickets, flowers, brads and flair to dress things up!
I LOVE the Prima Trim included also and used it to tie my bows through the holes on the sides that connect all the pieces (I punched them with my Crop A Dile!).

The stencil included in the kit is fabulous and is great for adding some depth to your background!  You can do a little, or a lot!  I used the postal stamp portion for this and also the vertical lines.

I used more of my homemade bling and added a couple more flowers!

I finished the house with the clear Prima stickers included in the kit!!!!

I truly LOVE this project and am very glad I finally got to it!!!  This will be on display in my house for a very long time :-)

Next up is card I made using the scraps left over from my little house!  Like I said...  LOVE this kit!!!
Here's a look at the card:

I think this would be a wonderful card to give to my hubby (hint*)!!!!  I love how the liquid pearls add a masculine touch to the card!!!
I used the maroon shaded paper as my base, then layered some of the black and white papers atop of it!  I grabbed another of those darling ATC cards and used it as my sentiment piece!

I have these little clock die-cuts I made with my die-cutting machine that I misted with the Perfect Pearls spray and inked with distress ink.  I topped it off with liquid pearls!!!

I tucked one of the tags from the kit behind my ATC card and embellished it with more liquid pearls!!!  I also added a pice of flair that matched the base paper!

I finished the card with a bunch of various flowers and dabs of liquid pearls here and there!!!

There you have it!!!  Two fabulous projects with one AMAZING kit!!!!

Now it's your turn to show us what you got!!!!  Since we had such a fabulous turn out with last month's kit challenge, we decided to keep the same challenge for this month!!!  ANYTHING GOES as long as you use this month's kit (or any previous FD kit) to create something!!!!  Upload your entry right here for your chance to win a fabulous prize from The Olde Saltbox!!!!
