CMS Challenge #63 with Heidi Swapp "Dreamy" Collection!!!

Hello there crafters!!!  Just popping in to share a layout I created for my very first DT reveal with Color Me Scrappy!!!
Here is the color combo for this challenge:

Isn't it lovely?!?  The papers from the May "Simple Sweet" Kit from Frosted Designs happened to be perfect for this challenge!  I also used the June 1st sketch over at Colorful Creations:

And here is my page:

This pics were taken at a local park earlier this year.  My youngest daughter is a DIVA and a "little miss know it all"!!!  Although you can't see her, my oldest daughter is on the other side of that finger!!!  Hahahaha!!!!
I started the page by adding some gesso to the background and coloring various Gelatos on top.  I blended with my finger, then used the Tim Holtz "Lattice" layering stencil and some molding paste mixed with gelato for some texture!

I tore up some strips of the Heidi Swapp paper and inked the edges using Prima's "Knotted Wood" ink.

I love these wooden veneers that almost all the companies have come out with!!!  They are so fun to play with and go with any style of page!  I added some liquid pearls around this one for added detail :-)

I decided to do a small cluster on the side of the page with various flowers and another wood veneer!
The butterflies were created using a punch and liquid pearls!

I finished my page with coordinating glittered Thickers from my stash!

There you have it!!!  My first project for CMS!!!  Be sure to stop by the blog and leave some love for all the fabulous designers there!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

Let's Get Sketchy Week 2 with Heidi Swapp "Dreamy" Collection!!!

Hello all and Happy Monday!!!  I hope you're all having a fabulous start to your week!

Just popping by the blog to share with you a layout created using the new sketch posted at Let's Get Sketchy and the May "Simply Sweet" Kit from Frosted Designs!
Here's a look at the sketch:

I love the Heidi Swapp "Dreamy" Collection and that just so happens to be included in this month's Frosted Designs Kit!
Here's my page:

These pictures were taken at my youngest daughter's birthday party last year!
I started my page with a Kraft Core cardstock by Coordination, then layered up my papers according to the sketch!  All the edges got a treatment of "Knotted Wood" ink by Prima that was included in the "Simply Sweet" kit.  I added some burlap that I dyed with Glimmer Glaze (also in the Simply Sweet kit!) and tucked one of the coordinating tags underneath!

I used one of my butterfly punches and the yellow paper from the collection to add some detail down the side of my page.

The clear word pieces in the kit are AMAZING!!!  I ran them through my sticker maker and added them for my title!

I finished the page with some bling and flowers as well as liquid pearls for added accents!!!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)

May's "Simply Sweet" Kit Challenge at Frosted Designs!!!

Hello everyone!!!  Can you believe we are already in May?!?  This year is flying by!!!  Speaking of May...  Have you seen this month's "Simply Sweet" kit?!?  It's GORGEOUS!!!!  Beautiful Heidi Swapp pattern papers, Prima flowers, stencil, trim, and so much more!!!

I've created a few projects using the May kit AND previous kits to show you just how versatile Frosted Designs monthly kits truly are!!!

Okay... Now about this month's challenge.  We've decided to switch things up a bit to give YOU the opportunity to play along AND use what you want!!!  This month, you can create ANY TYPE OF PROJECT using ANY FROSTED DESIGNS KIT you have!!!!  That's right... You're NOT limited to just this kit (although it's beautiful!!).  We just want to see what YOU create with all those goodies you've received over the months!!

We would like to welcome back Dies R Us as this month's sponsor for the kit challenge!!!

Dies R Us has graciously offered up a $10.00 gift certificate to their online store FULL of dies for all your die-cutting machines!!!  They carry brands like Penny Black, Impression Obsession, Spellbinders, and much, much more!!!  Stop by their amazing site to browse all their amazing selections!!!

So... As I said...  I've made a few things to share with you.
My first project is a banner I created as a Mother's day gift to myself showcasing my beautiful girls!!  I used ONLY this month's kit for this project:

I fell in love with these kraft tags as soon as I saw them!!!  They're perfect for cards, pages, and, well, a banner!!!
I started by inking the edges of the tag with the Prima ink included in this kit.  Then I added some of the pattern papers behind them, adding ink to the edges as well!

I cut the Prima sticker doily into two pieces and added those to different tags!

I also added one of the metal bird charms to the first tag... Those pieces are so adorable!

I used the Glimmer Glaze in the kit to create a mist, then sprayed one of the wooden pieces with it, and added little paint pearls around the edges!

I finished the banner by adding little paint pearls around the edges and under words for added detail :-)

Next on the list is a card I created using only this kit as well.  The papers are very soft and pretty and perfect for a friendship or Mother's Day card!
Here's a look: (Sketch by Brenda Ragsdale for Sketches4All!)

I started by creating a 6x6 card base using Kraft core distressed cardstock (LOVE this stuff!) and adding various pattern papers.  I used the Prima ink to distress all the edges for contrast!
I fussy cut out the banner and colored it with various Spectrum Noir markers, and added small white dots with the White Uniball Pen in store.

I used a butterfly punch to add butterflies around the card, using the papers from the kit!  I topped them off with paint pearls using the Viva Paper Pen included in the kit as well!

I finished the cards with a sentiment stamp and some bling!

A "Simply Sweet" friendship or Mother's Day card!

Last up...  A small wood plaque I've had in my stash for over a year!!!  I LOVE the stencil included in this month's kit and wanted to put it on something to hang :-)
For this project, I used this kit AND previous kits to create my desired piece!

I started by painting the plaque with the Tim Holtz paint dabber from the "Shades of Spring" kit, then added a thin coat of the African Jade Luminarte Silks Glaze from "A Moment in Time" kit for some shimmer!  I used the Viva Paper Pen in this month's kit and a foam brush to go over the stencil.  This paint dries raised and shiny!!  LOVE IT!!!!

I colored some molding paste with the Bells of Ireland Green Magical included in the "Beauty of Nature" kit and went over the stem of the flower on the stencil.  Then, I mixed up some of the glimmer glaze in this month's kit with the molding paste to add the top part of the flower!

I used flowers from the store and "A Moment in Time" kit to add to the top and bottom of the piece.

Lastly, I used the same mixture as the flower to stencil over the butterfly!

Another simple, yet sweet project using various kits!!!!

See how easy that is?!?  By combining kits, or using them alone, you can create all sorts of projects!!!  Mother's Day is just around the corner and Frosted Design's Kits are FABULOUS for creating amazing projects for your loved ones!!!

Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)
