Hello to all my fellow crafters!!! April has arrived and so has the wonderful "Beauty of Nature" Kit from Frosted Designs!!! Time again for another "Kit" Challenge :-)
This month, your challenge is to use the following sketch created by our very own Lisa Hidy:
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A LAYOUT!!!!!! You can create a card, canvas, altered project, or anything that floats your boat!!!! GET CREATIVE!!!!!
And now on to my projects:
I chose to do a layout and an altered tin!
Here's my first project:
I "trimmed" the sketch down a bit to accommodate my page. Then, I went to work!!!
I mixed the Lindy's "Mission Bells Brown" Magical with some molding paste, and then, using the harlequin template, I added some texture and color to the page.
Next, I added small splats of Black Dylusions Ink from my stash and added circles using the circle template and the Walnut Stain Distress Marker from the kit.
After distressing and layering all my papers and photo, I embellished with flowers and die-cuts from the kit! I took the Maya Road chipboard and colored it with the Walnut Stain Distress Marker, then went over it with the Brown Lindy's Magical using my water brush!
Nest on the list is an altered tin I created using the same sketch, only altering it it a bit for my project! Remember, the sketch is merely a guideline for the "base" of your project!!! Feel free to tweak it, turn it, or flip it to make it your own!
Here's a look at my next project:
I flipped the sketch for this one and got creative!
I used the one of the beautiful Nirvana papers for my background, inking the edges with a Walnut Stain Distress Ink! I layered on some of the other papers from the kit to meet the sketch requirements! After all my papers were down, I got to work embellishing!
I just LOVE the Prima wooden "stamps" in this kit and knew I had to use them here! I colored them both with the Walnut Stain Distress Marker, then used my waterbrush to add the Brown Lindy's Magical over top.
I added some of the Kaisercraft Chocolate Pearls and the 7 Dots Studio die-cuts for a little extra detail! I colored the Prima wooden butterfly with another Distress Marker from my stash and topped it off with Blue Lindy's Magical for some shine!
I finished the tin with various die-cuts, flowers, and one of the Prima Crochet icons.
There you have it!!! An altered project using the sketch above!!!
Well gang... Thanks so much for stopping in and have a LUCKY day :-)
